  • Hi, my name is Janet, I'm a personal trainer with Metamorphosis. And today I'm going to share with you a few exercises for plus-size women. A really great one to do is push-ups. Only you are going to do push-ups on your knees. That way you can control the difficulty and make them harder and harder as you get stronger. So here's what you are going to do. Come down on your knees. Take your hands and put them on the floor. You want them a little wider then shoulder width apart. And then what you are going to do is walk your knees back until your hips have dropped down and are nice and straight. So you don't want your glutes up and back. And you don't want them sagging down really low either. You want a nice straight back. Keep your core tight. And I like to cross my feet. You can also have them just next to each other out of the way like that. And then what you are going to do is push-up. Just like that. And I'd like you to do as many of them as you can until you feel like you can't complete another one. Another really great exercise for plus size women is one leg lunges. And those look like this. And you can add weight as you get stronger. What you are going to do is step out with one foot. Going to drop your back knee to the floor. Then you are going to step back and switch legs. Step out, drop your knee towards the floor. Step back. You are going to want to do about 10 to 15 on each side until you start feeling some really great burning going on. So that's a great exercise to get fit in the lower larger muscles of your body. And then finally I'd like to show you an exercise that's for your core. It's called plank. You may have seen it before but I'd like to show you how to do it correctly. So here goes you are going to come down on your core. On your knees first. And then you are going to take your forearms put them out in front of you. And then all you have to do is step back. Again, you are going to want to make sure that your hips don't sink down too low. Or come up too high. In the beginning that exercise might be really difficult so just hold it for as long as you can till you feel everything quivering and shaking.
